Skye Camanachd U14 Presented With 2014 Marine Harvest North Division 1 Trophy | |
13 November 2014 Skye Camanachd U14 were presented with the Marine Harvest North Division 1 trophy by Camanachd Association President Archie Robertson at the Portree High School All-Weather pitch on Wednesday 12 November 2014. The Skye youngsters came out of top in what was a very competitive league. They beat Caberfeidh at Castle Leod and took both points from the home match as Cabers were unable to travel. Skye drew away with Fort William and Kingussie and then beat both sides at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree. A large crowd of parents, supporters and Skye Camanachd officials were pitch-side to watch a game place between Skye Camanachd A U14 and Skye Camanachd B U14 at 3.45pm with Davie Pringle as match referee. The trophy presentation took place thereafter. Skye Camanachd Vice-Chairman Ross Cowie introduced Camanachd Association President Archie Robertson, who was undertaking one of his final duties before his tenure comes to an and at the end of the month. The President congratulated Skye Camanachd Youth Coach John MacLeod and his players on their successful season, particularly considering the distances they have to travel. He also commented on the super facilities at Portree High School and thanked Head Teacher Cathy MacDonald for the school’s co-operation which always allowed the players to travel to away matches in good time. Archie Robertson then presented the players with their medals before handing the trophy over to Skye Camanachd U14 captain John Gillies. There were refreshments for all the players afterwards at Portree High School. |
