29 May 2021 This week’s Skye Camanachd results have been confirmed. The Skye Camanachd first team beat the Lovat first team 1-0 in their preseason friendly at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 29 May 2021. It had looked as if the match would be a tale of two keepers. First, following a Skye corner, Lovat and Scotland keeper Stuart MacDonald made an incredible stop as he leapt to his left to turn away Jordan Murchison’s shot which was heading for the top corner of the net. Then, after the restart, Ryan Morrison pulled off a brilliant save as he stretched to tip Greg Matheson’s shot from distance over the bar. The only goal of this entertaining contest came 6 minutes from time. William MacKinnon broke up a Lovat attack and found substitute Archie MacDonald on the Skye left. MacDonald played the ball on to Ross Gordon who slipped a perfectly weighted pass across to Iain MacLellan on his right and his low shot beat the keeper on his right side with the ball nestling in the corner of the net. The Skye Camanachd second team had hoped to play Lochcarron at Battery Park but this match didn’t go ahead. Skye Camanachd U17 did not have a fixture. Skye Camanachd U14 did not have a fixture. The Skye Camanachd primary school aged team beat their Kinlochshiel primary school counterparts in the Camanachd Association Cup at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Monday 24 May 2021. All matches were played in accordance with the current restrictions meaning supporters were not permitted to attend. Thank you to everyone for adhering to the rules. |
