The Skye Camanachd first team lost 4-2 to holders Kingussie firsts in their Artemis Macaulay Cup first round tie at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 29 April 2023. Ruaraidh MacLeod and Ross Gordon’s penalty had Skye two up but Lee Bain’s hat-trick and Savio Genini’s goal gave the Kings victory. The Skye Camanachd second team won 3-2 in their Strathdearn Cup second round tie with the Beauly second team at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 29 April 2023. This was a cracking match and Taylor Matheson gave Skye the lead but Leon MacLellan and Sean Stewart turned the tie Beauly’s way and they could have been further ahead but for a wonderful diving save from Skye keeper Calum Nicolson. Skye manager Willie MacDonald had stern words with his players at the break and the Islanders were strong in the second half with Archie Millar blasting home a leveller a couple of minutes after the restart before Shockie MacLennan forced the winner over the line following a late goalmouth melee. Skye Camanachd A were to play Ardnamurchan A in a WCA Mowi National Division fixture at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 29 April 2023. However, the game will be rescheduled as Skye were already hosting two cup ties. Skye Camanachd B lost 5-1 in their WCA Mowi North Division 2 fixture with Strathspey Camanachd at Grantown Grammar School on Sunday 30 April 2023. Charlotte Bisset netted four times for Strathspey and Rosie Trussell got the other. Teri MacLeod scored the Skye goal. Skye Camanachd under-17 were 9-0 winners in their Mowi National Under-17 League - London Shield Section A match against Lovat under-17 at Balgate on Tuesday 25 April 2023. Archie Millar scored seven times with Alasdair Stewart bagging a brace. Skye Camanachd under-14 beat Glenurquhart under-14 10-0 in their Mowi Under-14 League – North of Scotland Section A clash at Blairbeg on Friday 28 April 2023. Harry Speed and Rylie Anderson both scored four times with Seth MacDonald and Seumas Stewart getting the others. |
