22 May 2021 Skye Camanachd and Kinlochshiel met at four different levels as competitive shinty returned this week. The Skye Camanachd first team lost 4-0 in their preseason friendly against the Kinlochshiel first team at Rèaraig Park on Saturday 22 May 2021. John MacRae grabbed a hat-trick for ‘Shiel with Keith MacRae getting the other. The Skye Camanachd second team defeated their Kinlochshiel counterparts 4-1 in their preseason friendly at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 22 May 2021. Taylor Matheson gave Skye a 7 minute lead following good play from James Robertson. However Rory Slaughter blasted home a leveller from the edge f the D on 27 minutes. Goals from Somhairle MacDonald and another from Taylor Matheson had Skye 3-1 to the good within 3 minutes of the restart. When Skye were awarded a free-hit outside the right of the D on 69 minutes, debutant Archie Millar picked out a clever run from Somhairle MacDonald who forced the ball home. The sides also contested the John “Kaid” Maclean Cup which was raised by Skye skipper Ian MacPherson. Skye Camanachd U17 opened their Mowi U17 London Shield League D campaign with a 5-4 victory over Kinlochshiel U17 at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Tuesday 18 May 2021. Taylor Matheson was credited all five Skye goals although Cameron Long may have a claim on the fifth. Archie MacRae grabbed a hat-trick for ‘Shiel with Zander MacRae getting the other. Skye Camanachd U14 beat Kinlochshiel U14 4-0 in their opening Mowi U14 North League C match at Rèaraig Park on Friday 21 May 2021. Oliver Langlands, Brodie MacQueen’s brace and Seonaidh-Alex MacLeod got the young Islanders off to a winning start. All matches were played in accordance with the current restrictions meaning supporters were not permitted to attend. Thank you to everyone for adhering to the rules. |
