03 July 2021 This week’s Skye Camanachd results are in! The Skye Camanachd first team lost 4-0 in their cottages.com MacTavish Cup first round tie against Kingussie at the Dell on Saturday 3 July 2021. This was a first opportunity for shinty supporters to watch a game since March 2020 and the ticketed event was well-organised by the Kingussie club. Those supporters in attendance saw a quick-fire double from Savio Genini on 31 minutes and Thomas Borthwick on 34 minutes give the Kings a 2-0 lead. Whilst Kingussie had most of the pressure, Skye weren’t without their opportunities and Ross Gordon hit the post and he also forced a fine save from Kingussie keeper Rory MacGregor. The Skye defence played very well throughout, preventing Kingussie from adding to their tally until the final 10 minutes of the tie with James Falconer scoring a third on 80 minutes and Thomas Borthwick getting his second 5 minutes later. The Skye Camanachd second team’s HIS Sutherland Cup first round tie against the Glenurquhart second team at Blairbeg on Saturday 3 July 2021 was postponed as the Glen has suspended all shinty participation because of a rise in covid cases in their area. Skye Camanachd A, Skye Camanachd B and the Skye Camanachd Development team did not have fixtures as the Womens Camanachd Association has suspended all shinty activity for two weeks because of the rise in covid cases. Neither Skye Camanachd U17 nor Skye Camanachd U14 were in action. |
