29 June 2014 Three Skye Camanachd teams were in action this week. The Skye Camanachd first team beat Strathglass 5-0 in their Marine Harvest North Division 1meeting at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 28 June 2014. Shockie MacLennan got Skye off to a great start with a goal after just 4 minutes. Shockie MacLennan’s switch from defence to attack has been a real plus for Skye this season and he made it 2-0 with his second goal on the half hour mark. Skye substitute Ally “Spod” MacLeod added a third just 3 minutes later. Second half goals from Danny Morrison on 63 minutes and Kenny Campbell a minute from time rounded of the win and means Skye maintain their 100% league record with six games played. The Skye Camanachd second team went down 3-1 to their Kinlochshiel counterparts in their Marine Harvest North Division 2 match at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 28 June 2014. The closest to a first half goal came when referee Martin MacLean awarded ‘Shiel a penalty but Iain MacLeod saved Paul MacRae’s effort. Three goals early in the second half from Gordie MacDonald, Paul MacRae and Davie Glass put ‘Shiel in control. Angie MacDonald pulled a goal back for Skye on 74 minutes but Kinlochshiel saw out the rest of the game to take the points. The Skye Camanachd Ladies were in Marine Harvest National Division 1 action as they beat Lochaber Ladies 5-2 at Spean Bridge on Sunday 29 June 2014. A Lorna MacRae brace and strikes from Anna MacDonald, Jenna Beaton and Caitlin MacLean all counted for Skye. Kirsty MacDonald notched both Lochaber goals. Skye Camanachd U17 did not have a fixture. Skye Camanachd A U14 and Skye Camanachd B U14 did not have a fixture and will not be back in action until after the school holidays. |
