24 March 2018 Four Skye Camanachd teams were in action on Saturday 24 March 2018. The Skye Camanachd first team lost 5-1 to their Caberfeidh counterparts in their Marine Harvest Premiership match at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree. Will Cowie gave Skye a 5 minute lead but two Kevin Bartlett goals had Cabers ahead at the break. Craig Morrison added two more in the second half before Kevin Bartlett’s late penalty rounded off the 5-1 win. The Skye Camanachd second team notched a fine 4-0 win over Aberdeen University in their Marine Harvest North Division 1 contest at Balgownie. Captain Martin Pringle led from the front with the opening goal before Ross Gordon made it 2-0 at the break. Chris Rose added a third soon after the restart with Ross Gordon getting his second on the hour to make it 4-0 and set up an enjoyable journey home. The Skye Camanachd Ladies first team were too strong for Strathspey Ladies, winning 15-0 in their Marine Harvest National Division 1 encounter at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree. Caitlin MacLean was Skye’s top scorer with five goals whilst Sarah Corrigall netted four times. A Lorna MacRae double, strikes from Jenna Beaton and Rhianna Kirk and two own goals completed Skye’s tally. The sides also contested the Cuach a Chairdeas in memory of Joy Robson. The Skye Camanachd Ladies second team were 8-1 winners against Inverness in their Marine Harvest North Division 2 fixture at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree. Katie MacMillan got the Inverness goal but an Abby MacLean hat-trick and a Holly MacLean goal had Skye 4-1 to the good at half-time. Holly MacLean went on the score twice more in the second half to complete her hat-trick. Abby MacLean scored once more whilst Anna MacPhee got the other. |
