20 August 2016 There were three Skye Camanachd teams in action over the course of the weekend. Two late goals consigned the Skye Camanachd first team to a 3-1 defeat against Lovat in their Marine Harvest Premiership meeting at Balgate on Saturday 20 August 2016. All the goals came in the second half. Graeme MacMillan put the home side ahead after 69 minutes but Will Cowie levelled on 77 minutes. Greg Matheson on 81 minutes and Euan Ferguson a minute from time gave Lovat the win. The Skye Camanachd second team beat the Kinlochshiel second team 4-2 in their Marine Harvest North Division 1 derby at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 20 August 2016. A James Pringle goal and a David Grant penalty put Skye 2-0 ahead at the break. Substitute Connor Gilpin ran onto a great Calum Gibb pass to score with his first touch of the game a minute into the second half. ‘Shiel’s Neil Fraser pulled a goal back on 50 minutes. Kenny MacLeod made it 4-1 on 78 minutes and although Steven Isles sent a shot high into the net 4 minutes from time, Skye saw out the closing stages to win 4-2. The Skye Camanachd Ladies did not have a fixture. Skye Camanachd U17 did not have a fixture. Skye Camanachd A U14 beat Fort William U14 6-3 in their opening match of their Marine Harvest North Division 1 league campaign at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Friday 19 August 2016. Abby MacLean scored twice for Skye with Ross Gordon, Mark MacQueen, Ryan MacAskill and Holly MacLean getting the others. Paul Paterson, Victor Smith and Greg Kelly scored for Fort William. |
