20 June 2015 All six Skye Camanachd teams saw shinty action during over the course of the week. The Skye Camanachd first team climbed to second place in the Marine Harvest National Division when they beat an under-strength Ballachulish side 12-0 at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 20 June 2015. Kenny Campbell gave Skye a 10 minute lead and the goals flowed after that. Will Cowie and Jordan Murchison each scored four times, substitute Iain Nicolson grabbed a brace and Kenny MacLeod got the other. Skye scored some fine goals and they have a big match against Beauly in Portree next weekend. Throw up is at noon. The Skye Camanachd second team led twice against Glengarry in their Marine Harvest North Division 2 meeting with Glengarry at Craigard on Saturday 20 June 2015 but they had to settle for a point in a 2-2 draw. Ally “Cleodi” MacLeod gave Skye the lead on 23 minutes and they took that lead into the break. Ken Henderson drew ‘Garry level from the penalty spot on the hour but Skye went back in front just 3 minutes later through John Angus MacInnes. However John MacKinnon earned the home side a draw with a goal 20 minutes from time. Next up for Skye is a home meeting with Aberdeen University next weekend. Throw up is at 3pm. The Skye Camanachd Ladies play Badenoch & Strathspey Ladies in the Valerie Fraser Cup semi-finals at Mossfield on Sunday 21 June 2015. Throw up is at 3pm and Deek Cameron is the match referee. Skye Camanachd U17 suffered their first London Shield defeat of the season as they lost 2-0 to league leaders Beauly U17 at a very wet Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Tuesday 16 June 2015. Sandy Elrick got the opener early in the first half and he added a second mid-way through the second period, Skye had chances in the second half but Beauly are proving to be the team to beat at this level. Ryan Macaskill a Ruairidh MacLeod brace and a Jamie MacPhie strike counted for Skye B. However goals from Calum Robertson, Mark MacQueen, Angus MacDonald, a James Morrison own goal, Connor Gilpin and a Katherine Dibble effort gave Skye A the win. |
