Skye Camanachd Saturday Shinty Shorts | |
18 March 2017 The Skye Camanachd first and second teams were scheduled to be in action on Saturday 18 March 2017. The Skye Camanachd first team beat Oban Celtic 3-1 in their Marine Harvest National Division meeting at Ganavan. Early injuries to Iain Nicolson and Neil MacVicar meant Skye co-managers Willie Cowie and Peter Gordon had to make changes. Iain MacLellan and Ally “Spod” MacLeod came on in their place. Iain MacLellan scored twice to put Skye 2-0 ahead with Jordan Murchison also hitting the post. Iain MacLellan completed his hat-trick in the second half and he almost had a fourth with another strike coming back of the post. Neil Carmichael pulled a goal back for Oban Celtic who had chances but Skye keeper Iain MacLeod made some good saves with his feet. The Skye Camanachd second team’s match against their Glenurquhart counter-parts was postponed on Friday evening as the Glen’s Blairbeg pitch was unplayable. |
