03 October 2015 The Skye Camanachd second team clinched the Marine Harvest North Division 2 title with a 3-1 win over the Inverness second team at the Bught Park on Saturday 3 October 2015. The Skye Camanachd first team have completed their fixtures. Skye knew that they needed just one more point to finish top of the division. Skye forward John MacKenzie had to leave the field when he caught his studs on the turf and twisted his knee. Angie MacDonald came on in his place and he was hardly in position for 5 minutes when he gave Skye the lead. Angie MacDonald added his and Skye’s second after the restart. Stuart MacRae pulled a goal back for the home side from the penalty spot. However Skye were not to be denied and a 40 yard John Angus MacInnes shot deceived the Inverness keeper to put Skye 3-1 to the good. The Skye seconds will be presented with the Marine Harvest North Division 2 trophy following their final match of the season next weekend when Boleskine visit Pairc nan Laoch, Portree. The Skye Camanachd Ladies have completed their fixtures. Skye Camanachd U17 were not in action. Skye Camanachd U14 were too strong for Beauly U14, winning 13-0 in their Marine Harvest North Division 1 encounter which was an 11.30am throw up at Braeview Park on Saturday 3 October 2015. Skye full forward Ruaraidh MacLeod scored three times in the first 5 minutes before being substituted. Keeper Murphy Henderson was given a run up front and he netted twice. Gilleasbuig MacVicar, doubles from Christina MacDonald and Mark MacQueen and strikes from Jamie MacPhie, Ryan Macaskill and Dan MacDonald sealed the win. |
