Skye Camanachd were named Club of the Year at the 2015 Annual Marine Harvest Shinty Awards which took place in the Drumossie Hotel, Inverness on Friday 18 October 2015.
This is the successive year that Skye have been given this accolade and secretary Chrisanne MacDonald collected a presentation caman and a cheque for £250 from Marine Harvest’s Steve Bracken on behalf of the club from Marine Harvest’s Steve Bracken.
The Islanders first team followed up last year’s Marine Harvest North Division 1 and Balliemore Cup successes by winning the Marine Harvest National Division and promotion to shinty’s top flight for the first time since 2002.
The Skye Camanachd second team took the Marine Harvest North Division 2 title and they also look forward to promotion to the league above.
The Skye Camanachd Ladies challenged for the Marine Harvest North Division 1 title which was eventually retained by Glasgow Mid Argyll Ladies.
Skye Camanachd U17 were MacTavish Juvenile Cup runners-up and they just missed out on a place in the London Shield semi-finals after a play-off.
Skye Camanachd U14 also had a successful year, finishing MacMaster Cup runners-up whilst they are still in contention for the Marine Harvest North Division 1 title.
There were also representative honours for Iain MacLeod and Jordan Murchison at Scotland U21 level and Sarah Corrigall, Lorna MacRae, Caitlin MacLean, Catriona Gibb and Emma Gordon for the Skye Camanachd Ladies.
