13 August 2013 The Skye Camanachd Ladies host the Skye Camanachd Ladies National Shinty Sixes at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 17 August 2013. This is the second year that the Skye Ladies have hosted this tournament with Glasgow Mid Argyll winning the 2012 event. The tournament starts at 1pm and there will be two groups of four teams playing round-robin matches on two pitches throughout the afternoon. Rules Group games will last 7 minutes one way and 5 minutes will be allowed in between each group game to give the next set of teams enough time to take their positions. At the end of the day, each team’s points will be totaled and the top two teams from each group will go forward into the semi finals. If there are two teams with an equal number of points at the end of the group stage, then the team with the most goals for will be ranked above the team equal with points. If there are two teams with an equal number of points and goals for at the end of the group stage, then the team with the least goals against will be ranked above the team with equal points and goals for. The semi final games will last 7 minutes one way. If at the end of the 7 minutes the score is tied, then 3 minutes of extra time will be played each way. If at the end of the extra 3 minutes the score is tied, then the game will go to penalties. Each team will then nominate four players who were on the pitch when the final whistle of extra time was blown to take a penalty, and confirm their penalty takers with the referee. The four penalty takers from each team will alternate in taking a penalty, the winner being the team to score best of four. If the game is still undecided after all four penalty takers from each team have taken a penalty, then it will go to sudden death penalties where another player from each team who was on the pitch when the final whistle was blown at the end of extra time will take a penalty, the winner being the team who scores a penalty which isn’t matched by the other team. The final will last 6 minutes each way. If at the end of the 12 minutes the score is tied, then 4 minutes of extra time will be played each way. If at the end of the extra 8 minutes the score is tied, then the game will go to penalties. Each team will then nominate four players who were on the pitch when the final whistle of extra time was blown to take a penalty, and confirm their penalty takers with the referee.
