The Skye Camanachd Ladies hosted a very successful Bingo Night at the Skye Camanachd Clubhouse on Saturday 28 February 2015.
Over 60 bingo players took part and there were some big prizes on offer including two weekend tickets for the “SKYE LIVE” music festival which takes place at The Lump, Portree on Friday 3 April 2015 and Saturday 4 April 2015 (Easter weekend).
Special thanks also go to Colin Lamond, Armadale Activities, 6 Peak Personal Training, The Isle of Skye Candle Company, Kinloch Lodge, Donald Lockley, Misty Isle Boat Trips, Dancing Dolphins, Make, Do and Mend, Isle of Skye and Elgol Shop.
A total of just over £1,200 was raised during the evening which is a great boost to club funds.
Skye Camanachd runs six individual teams – U14A, U14B, U17, Ladies, Second Team and First Team - playing in both North and National competitions. The club holds weekly practice sessions for all six groups and players are provided with facilities, equipment, transport and the chance to be involved in something which improves their well-being and self-esteem.
This all comes at a financial cost, especially in relation to travel and equipment costs, and takes around £60,000 per annum to fund. Skye Camanachd carries out a number of fund raising events throughout the year to meet these costs and the Bingo Night is a big part of this.
