A Lorna MacRae run from inside her own half took her to the edge of the D but she couldn’t get a shot on target and the ball was eventually cleared. Kirsty Deans was causing the Skye defence problems any time she got the ball and another good bit of play from Deans saw her run towards goal. She slipped the ball to Zoe Reid but her shot was saved with her feet and played out for a corner by Sarah-Jane Ferguson in the Skye goal. The visitors took the lead on 15 minutes. The Skye defence was under heavy pressure and when Badenoch who won the ball in midfield Zoe Reid was played in but she sent a shot over the top from the edge of the D. A ball in on goal was saved by Sarah-Jane Ferguson but Zoe Reid darted in to force the rebound over the line to make it 3-1 at the in interval. Skye now had the elements in their favour but Badenoch continued to attack and Sarah-Jane Ferguson did well to save a shot with her hand before clearing the ball to safety. Badenoch made 4-1 around 15 minutes into the second half when Zoe Reid pushed the ball over the line from close in. Lorna MacRae cut in from the left just 4 minutes later and her clean shot made it 4-2 but Skye still had a lot to do. This was a disappointing first defeat of the season for Skye in a game where they were far from their best. However it’s a division where a number of the sides look as if they can take points off eachother so there is still plenty to play for.
