18 December 2015 Skye Camanachd added a new Vice Presidents at the club’s Annual General Meeting at the Skye Camanachd Clubhouse on Thursday 19 November 2015. The role of Skye Camanachd Vice President is a honourary position granted to those who have made a significant contribution to the club over many years. Gerry Akroyd was added to the list for his contribution at a time when the club enjoyed its greatest success. When first team manager Ross Cowie introduced a “no-train / no-play” policy in 1989, he appointed Gerry Akroyd as team trainer. With a wealth of experience on the football front, Akroyd quickly set about putting the squad through their paces and his twice-a-week sessions left the team prepared for shinty at the highest level. Skye enjoyed their greatest success at this time, winning the Camanachd Cup in 1990. The current list of Skye Camanachd Vice Presidents is;
