08 April 2019 The Skye Camanachd reserves were too strong for the Kilmallie reserves, winning 7-1 in their noon throw up at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 6 April 2019. The weather was good ahead of the game but the rain started to fall an hour before throw up. Referee John Matheson penalised the Kilmallie keeper for a kick and awarded Skye a penalty after just 2 minutes, Daniel Morrison stepped up to score from the spot. The Skye goals kept coming and Cameron MacKay on 9 minutes, Marcus Scott on 14 minutes and Sam MacPhee a couple of minutes later had them 4-0 ahead. Andrew Gibb pulled a goal back on 20 minutes but Cameron MacKay got his second on 44 minutes to make it 5-1 at the turn-around. Skye’s final two goals came late in the match as Marcus Scott got his second on 81 minutes and Iain Munro, scoring for the first time since his return to the club, made it 7-1 just a couple of minutes later. Skye Camanachd will host Lochside Rovers in the Sutherland Cup second round which is scheduled for Saturday 4 May 2019.
