17 June 2018 Inverness Ladies were too strong for the Skye Camanachd Ladies second team, winning 9-1 in their Marine Harvest Challenge Cup semi-final at Craigard on Sunday 17 June 2018. Skye had already beaten Inverness at home in the league this season but coach Aishling Masterson was without Abby MacLean and Holly MacLean for this one whilst Inverness had a stronger squad at their disposal than the one that visited Portree. Emma MacLennan got Inverness off to a perfect start with a goal after just 2 minutes. Katie McMillan then went on to complete a first half hat-trick with strikes on 14, 22 and 24 minutes. Hannah Johnston added a fifth on 29 minutes whilst Katie McMillan nabbed her fourth goal of the afternoon on 37 minutes. Melissa MacKay on 46 minutes and another from Hannah Johnston on 52 minutes made it 8-0. Skye’s Ceitidh Smith scored on 58 minutes to give the Islanders some consolation. However Inverness had the final say with Hannah Johnston completing her hat-trick on 68minutes to seal a 9-1 and a place in the final against Glenurquhart.
