The Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup Final between Kingussie and Glenurquhart takes place at the Bught Park on Saturday 13 September 2014.
Kingussie have won shinty’s biggest prize 22 times and their last win was a 4-2 victory over Fort William in Dunoon in 2006. Kingussie’s Ronald Ross collected the Albert Smith medal that year in a final refereed by Ted MacDonald.
Glenurquhart in comparison have never won the Camanachd Cup. They have appeared in the final just once – in 1988 when Saturday’s opponents Kingussie recovered from going two goals behind to win 4-2. Glenurquhart’s Ally MacKintosh was the recipient of the Albert Smith Medal and Iain MacPhee was the match referee.
