Scotland U21 Head Coach Ronald Ross Looks To The Future | |
24 November 2013 Scotland U21 Head Coach Ronald Ross has one eye on the future following his side’s defeat to Ireland U21 the Marine Harvest Shinty / Hurling international at the Bught Park on Saturday 2 November 2013. “We give a good account of ourselves, especially in the first half,” said Ross as he reflected on the game. “We were against a powerful Irish side who were older than us and a powerful second half performance won them the game.” Ross was hit with a series of call-offs ahead of the game; mainly through injury. This forced him to fielder a younger side than normal with some of the players representing Scotland U17 in recent years. “You have to remember that all but two of our players are eligible to play in next year’s U21 international and most will be able to play the year after too that so this year’s match gave them great experience.” Ross reserved special mention for Oban Camanachd keeper Robert Dunnings. “He made some fantastic saves, especially in the first half when he kept us in the game, but I’m pleased with all the boys. We just need to continue to work hard in the lead up to next year’s international match.” Picture courtesy of www.neilgpaterson.com |
