Scotland U17 Squad Named For Ireland Tour | |
18 July 2018 The Scotland U17 squad has been confirmed for the 2018 tour of Ireland. Connor Gilpin and Ruaraidh MacLeod have been named in the Scotland U17 squad which travels to Ireland at the weekend. There is also a place for William MacKinnon, who plays senior shinty for Boleskine and plays with the Skye Camanachd U17s The annual tour, which has been taking place for over twenty years, sees the elite shinty players, many of whom attended the previous year’s National Development Camp, make up the squad. It is the last opportunity for players to test themselves before preparing to step up to U21 and senior level. This year’s squad is made up of some highly skilful players, many of whom already hold spots in their own club’s first team. I am in no doubt that we will see some excellent displays of shinty / hurling skill.” The squad departs on Sunday 22 July 2018 and plays an opening game against County Meath U17 the following day. The annual meeting with Dublin U17 takes place at Parnell Park on Tuesday 24 2018 July with the squad returning home the day after. |
