Race On To Fill Final Marine Harvest National Division Spot | |
08 January 2015 The Camanachd Association is sounding out several clubs as they look to fill the final place in the Marine Harvest National Division. The slot became available when Bute, whole finished bottom of the new league last year, decided to play in Marine Harvest South Division 1 this coming season as they look to rebuild their squad. There are several South clubs eligible to take Bute’s place – Oban Celtic, Aberdour, Strachur, Taynuilt and Kilmory. Oban Celtic are believed to have rejected the chance to take part and it remains to be seen how the other clubs view the prospect. Two clubs would be eligible from the North. Reports suggest Strathglass feel they would find it more beneficial to field their young side in Marine Harvest North Division 1 next season. However Inverness, who finished bottom of Marine Harvest North Division 1 in 2014, are believed to be more open to the idea. The Marine Harvest National Division was only re-introduced at the start of the 2014 shinty season. The 2015 shinty fixture list is usually available from the beginning of February. |
