Newtonmore’s Norman Campbell To Captain Scotland Once Again | |
04 October 2013 Newtonmore’s Norman Campbell will captain Scotland once again for the 2013 Marine Harvest Shinty / Hurling series against Ireland. Scotland Head Coach Drew McNeil named Campbell as his captain in 2011 and he has led the national squad ever since. Norman Campbell has been a regular in the Scotland squad for several years now and he is one of shinty’s iconic figures. He has been a key player in a Newtonmore side which has lifted the Orion Group Premiership for the last four seasons in a spell which also included two Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup successes. Event Details Scotland and Ireland meet in the first Marine Harvest Shinty / Hurling test at Croke Park on Saturday 26 October 2013. Throw-in is at 4.15pm and the match will be televised live by Irish channel TG4 (available over the internet) and broadcast later by BBC Alba. The second test between Scotland and Ireland takes place a week after on Saturday 2 November 2013 at the Bught Park, Inverness. Throw-in is at 2pm and the match will be televised live by BBC2 Scotland and TG4.
