New Shinty Referees For 2013 Shinty Season | |
07 March 2013 The Camanachd Association has recruited a number of new shinty referees for the 2013 season. It has been necessary to boost the number of referees as several from last year have moved into club management. Callum Duff has taken over at Strathglass; Duncan Kelly is in charge at Kilmallie whilst Graeme MacMillan is the new Lovat second team manager. Graham Irving is another top referee who is not available this term. A number of former players have joined the referee fraternity including former Oban Camanachd duo John MacGregor and Alex MacVicar. Caberfeidh stalwart Archie Ritchie is another new whistler as is Plockton High School Gaelic teacher Robert MacAskill who used to play for Fort William and Aberdeen University. Ex-Tayforth and Inverness player Calum Girvan and Neil MacDonald, who played his shinty in the South, make up an impressive list of new recruits. Go easy on them guys! |
