Lovat Shinty Club Look To Build New Pavilion | |
08 November 2016 Lovat Shinty Club have embarked on an ambitious project to build a new sports pavilion at their Balgate pitch. The new facility will not only provide male and female changing rooms for the club’s youth and adult shinty teams but can be used regularly by the community as a whole. It will incorporate treatment rooms designed to be used by physiotherapists and NHS staff as well as social areas for the local school and other constituted groups who operate in the rural community. With the local village hall oversubscribed, the demand for an additional community facility is high. The project ties in with Lovat’s Development Plan which aims to increase the number of youth members at their club. And, with a ladies team now playing on a regular basis, the new pavilion will also resolve issues arising from the current limited changing facilities. Lovat have support from sportscotland and The Robertson Trust and, together with the clubs own funds and donations, they already have a large contribution towards the cost of the project. However they are not quite there yet and are appealing for donations for a project which means so much to the shinty club and the community as a whole. The club have set up a clubhouse project crowdfunder. Donations have already started to come in and pledges can be made at the following link http://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/lovat-shinty-club-new-pavilion/ |
