06 December 2016 Lovat have advertised for a new first team manager to replace John MacRitchie. MacRitchie, who had a previous term as Lovat first team co-manager with James Gallacher, informed the club’s committee of his intention to stand down and the Balgate side have taken immediate steps to identify his successor. Lovat have invited applications from appropriately experienced people to take on the first team management role. The closing date for any interested parties is Friday 16 December 2016. The highlight of MacRitchie’s tenure was undoubtedly the 2015 Camanachd Cup success when a Kevin Bartlett brace helped them beat Kyles Athletic 2-1 at Mossfield. The team finished seventh in the Marine Harvest Premiership last season, only behind Kingussie and Glenurquhart on goal difference, following what was an injury ravished year. John MacRitchie will continue in the role as Lovat Club President and he has a prominent part to play in the club’s new pavilion project. He is expected to lead the team for a final time in the 2017 Lovat Cup match against Beauly at Braeview Park on Saturday 2 January 2017. |
