Kyles Athletic, Inverlochy & Bute Are 2014 Macaulay Sixes Winners | |
16 June 2014 Kyles Athletic, Inverlochy and Bute were the winners at the 2014 Macaulay Sixes for primary school age shinty players which took place at Mossfield, Oban on Saturday 7 June 2014. The action started at 10.30am and there were three competitions played throughout the day: Ian Cummings Memorial Trophy The senior event (Primary 7 & under) for the Ian Cummings Memorial Trophy was won by a Kyles Athletic side coached by club stalwart Dan MacRae. The Tighnabruaich youngsters, who had just six players, beat Inverlochy at the semi final stage. It took penalties to separate Park and Taynuilt in the other semi final with the Oban edging out their rivals. The final was another close affair and it took extra time and penalties before Kyles eventually saw off Park. Alastair Campbell Shield Inverlochy came out on top in the junior event (Primary 5 & under) for the Alastair Campbell Shield. Inverlochy beat Beauly in the final but again it took extra time and penalties to separate the sides. Peter English Trophy There were sufficient entries for an intermediate competition for the Peter English Trophy to take place. Bute were the winners, beating the Eilan Boys 3-0 in the final. Players of the Tournament Park’s Ross Campbell was the male Player of the Tournament whilst Ellie MacInnes from the Park development side was the female Player of the Tournament. |
