23 June 2021 Skye Camanachd U17 were 4-2 winners in their Mowi U17 London Shield League D game against Kinlochshiel U17 at Rèaraig on Tuesday 22 June 2021. This 6.30pm throw up took place under current covid restrictions meaning supporters were unable to attend. Skye opened defending the Kyle end of the pitch. Taylor Matheson gave Skye the lead when he got away from his marker to run onto a ball from the right and he beat the advancing keeper from the right of the D. Taylor Matheson added a second with a fine individual goal. Matheson gathered a long ball from the right before taking a touch by his marker before running in on goal, avoiding another challenge and beating the keeper. With the rain worsening, Kinlochshiel were awarded a penalty but Archie MacRae’s spot-hit was well-saved with his feet by Skye goalie Calum Nicolson. ‘Shiel pulled a goal back with a shot from the back of the D following a corner from the right. Taylor Matheson completed his hat-trick when he forced home a rebound from close range to make it 3-0 at half-time. The hosts started the second half well and they narrowed the deficit to a single goal when they squeezed the ball home at the back post. However Calum Gillies restored Skye’s two-goal cushion when his bouncing shot from wide on the right deceived the keeper by his left-hand post.
