14 June 2013 Skye Camanachd B U14 and Kinlochshiel U14 drew 2-2 in their Local League match at Kirkton on Friday 14 June 2013. Kinlochshiel U14 won 1-0 when the sides played at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree earlier in the season. Kinlochshiel took the lead in this 6.30pm throw up when Corran Campbell shot home from around 15 yards. ‘Shiel extended their lead when a low shot from forward Alasdair MacRae sneaked under the feet of Jack Henderson in the Skye B goal and the home side took this 2-0 advantage into the half time break. Skye B, shooting down the slope in the second half, pulled a goal back 10 minutes after the interval when Ross Nicolson shot low into the corner of the net from 18 yards. Skye B’s Jack Henderson was busier of the two keepers and he made a series of good stops to deny the ‘Shiel forwards. Skye B equalised on 65 minutes when Calum Robertson from Sleat finished well from an acute angle, 10 yards from goal, to bag his first goal for the Islanders at U14 level. The play continued to ebb from end to end for the remainder of the game with no further scoring. Best for Skye B were Marcus Ross and Ruaraidh MacLeod in defence whilst Sam MacPhee, Ross Nicolson and Emma Gordon battled away well in centre line. Anna MacDonald led the line well in the Skye B attack. Skye Camanachd B U14 Youth Coach, John MacLeod said, "I was pleased with the team’s performance, especially in the second half. We battled away to earn the draw." Kinlochshiel finish second in the group to the Skye Camanachd A team whilst Skye Camanachd B are third.
