Kingussie High School Win 2016 Donella Crawford Sixes | |
01 March 2016 Kingussie won the 2016 Donella Crawford Sixes as nine High Schools competed for the coveted trophy in Ardnamurchan on Thursday 25 February 2016. The teams played in a round-robin format on two grass pitches on what was a bright but cold day. The top four teams qualifying for the semi-final stage and the games were refereed by Kirsty Delaney and Hanna Dougan. Ardnamurchan A topped the group ahead of holders Lochaber A on goal difference. Glenurquhart finished third with Kingussie fourth, just ahead of Plockton who failed to make the cut. Kingussie overcame Ardnamurchan A 1-0 in their 7 minute semi-final with Lochaber A beating Glenurquhart 2-0 in their last four clash. A first half goal in the final was enough to give Kingussie a 1-0 victory over Lochaber A. Donella Crawford’s cousin, Alistair McMillan, presented the medals trophy to the winning Kingussie squad. |
