Kingussie 4 Skye Camanachd 3 | |
27 March 2023 The Skye Camanachd second team were edged out 4-3 in their Mowi North Division 1 match against the Kingussie second team at the Dell on Saturday 25 March 2023. Kingussie pair George Taylor-Ramsay and Somhairle Fraser passed fitness checks to play whilst Skye’s Alex MacDonald missed this 2.30pm throw up with a hand injury but James Robertson returned to the squad. Robert Shiells scored on 31 minutes to put the Kings ahead, but Ruaraidh MacLeod drew Skye level on the stroke of half-time, sending the ball low into the net after Taylor Matheson’s effort had been blocked. MacLeod controlled the ball on the edge of the D, moving it to his right side and sending it into the bottom corner of the net. Archie Millar put Skye ahead on the hour. A Kingussie defender stopped the ball with their feet and it bounced towards Millar who took a touch to the right before firing low past the keeper. However Somhairle Fraser equalised just 5 minutes after and Peter Dickson made it advantage Kingussie on 74 minutes. A second from Archie Millar on 84 minutes, tapping home a rebound from close range after Ruaraidh MacLeod had dribbled the ball at the home defence before seeing his shot saved by keeper Hayden Taylor-Ramsay, looked to have earned Skye a point. However, with just 3 minutes to go, Robert Shiells got his second to win the match when Skye failed to clear their lines.
