12 June 2014 The Camanachd Association has confirmed that Keith Loades will join their Board of Directors with immediate effect. Keith Loades is co-opted as a Director until the 2014 Annual General Meeting in November, at which point the position will go forward for election. As well as serving as a player, manager, committee member and President of Orion Group Premiership side Kinlochshiel, Keith Loades was also a member of the very successful Aberdeen University side between 1970 and 1974. He was capped three times for Scotland against Ireland in the annual Shinty / Hurling internationals. Keith Loades brings great business acumen to the Camanachd Association Board as before retiring in 2013; he was employed by Morrison Construction for over 33 years and held the position of Commercial Director (Scotland) since 2001, responsible for in excess of £100 million per annum of construction work. His involvement included all aspects of managing the business, with particular emphasis on procurement, contractual and financial matters. As a Member of the Morrison Construction Board, he gained vast experience of reporting and receiving reports, team working and decision making. Away from shinty, he is an enthusiastic golfer and a member of Nairn Golf Club since 1980. He has previously served as Vice-Captain and Captain of the club and was heavily involved in the successful hosting of both the Walker Cup and Curtis Cup tournaments. Camanachd Association President Archie Robertson was delighted to announce Keith Loades appointment. He said, “I am delighted that someone of Keith’s calibre is joining the Board. He brings with him significant business and other experience that is essential for the successful operation of the Camanachd Association. Keith is a well-respected and committed member of our shinty community and I am in no doubt that this is very positive news for our game.” |
