Ireland co-managers William Maher and Conor Phelan have named their squad for the 2017 Marine Harvest Shinty / Hurling International against Scotland at The Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday 21 October 2017.
Maher and Phelan managed the Ireland U21 squad to victory at The Bught Park last year and they make the step up to the senior side to replace Jeffrey Lynskey and his assistant Gregory O’Kane.
Tipperary duo John McGrath and James Barry are joined but Conor Lehane from Cork and Lee Chin from Wexford. Barry will feature in defence with McGrath, Lehane and Chin providing a serious attacking threat.
Enda Rowland from Laois was part of the Ireland U21 squad last year and he moves up to the senior squad.
There are a number of new faces in the squad although Meath’s tough-tackling defender Damien Healy is retained from last year and Carlow’s Paul Coady was a substitute in 2015.
