Glasgow Mid Argyll’s Laura McCafferty To Captain Scotland Women’s Squad | |
31 October 2013 Scotland Womens Head Coach Stuart Reid has given Glasgow Mid Argyll’s Laura McCafferty the honour of captaining the side in the Marine Harvest International Shinty / Camogie match against Dublin at the Bught Park on Saturday 2 November 2013. “It is such a good group but Laura is so right for the role of captain,” said Reid ahead of the game. “She is 100% committed to the whole process, whether it is the way she plays on the park or how she conducts herself off the field. It’s fair to say that Laura is not outspoken but she certainly leads by example and she never lets her head drop if things are going against the team. She has a great attitude and embodies everything I want to see in a captain.” The Dublin squad will be captained by 28 year old Elaine Gallery, who also captained the Dubs to their 2013 All-Ireland Junior Camogie success. The ace-attacker is sure to test the Scottish defence in Saturday’s encounter.
