28 July 2022 Camanachd Association Grade 1 referee and former Skye Camanachd player John Angus Gillies is planning to cycle around 140 miles on Skye on Thursday 25 August 2022 to raise funds to help provide a multi-purpose Community Church for the Portree & Bracadale Congregation. John Angus said: “Due to the pandemic and the rising cost of materials, we have a £400,000 funding gap to meet in order to complete of the project. We commenced our building in April this year on the site at “Shepherds Way” in Portree, an appropriate place for a new Church building. “I would value any support from you and if you want to come for a short cycle on the day, you are more than welcome.” You can donate to the JustGiving page by clicking here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/new-church-portree?utm_source=Sharethis&utm_medium=fundraising&utm_content=new-church-portree&utm_campaign=pfp-email&utm_term=4eb6596d4e6748f3b346e35e74d56f88.
