20 June 2013 Fort William U17 beat Newtonmore U17 4-3 to lift the Co-operative MacTavish Juvenile Cup at the Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday 15 June 2013. Newtonmore went into the match as favourites with forward Sam Richardson providing a real goal threat. Craig Ritchie, Craig MacLeod and Darrin Fowler were also key players. Fort William were several players short of their full team. Ace forward Alexander MacMillan was one of three players on a school trip whilst Jay MacLeod was out injured. Sam Richardson gave ‘More a 5 minute lead but they only held on to it for 4 minutes with Lewis Morrison levelling. Sam Richardson got his and side’s second on 26 minutes and the young Newtonmore second team player completed his hat-trick on 33 minutes. The score remained that way until 65 minutes when Lewis Morrison got his second to reduce the deficit to 3-2. Lewis Morrison then completed his hat-trick with a strike on 68 minutes. The winning goal came on 86 minute’s with Fort’s Grant Disher getting the all-important strike. Newtonmore had the chance to draw level late in the extra time period when referee John Angus Gillies awarded them a penalty. However Fort keeper Garry MacKay made the save and captain Arran MacPhee was presented with the MacTavish Juvenile Cup. Match Referee - John Angus Gilles
