12 July 2016 Oban Camanachd stalwart Duncan MacIntyre passed away peacefully after a long illness on Tuesday 5 July 2016. Duncan MacIntyre had an incredible 50 year association with Oban Camanachd, serving the club as committee member, secretary, treasurer, vice-president and president. His proudest moment came in 1996 when, as club president, he saw Oban Camanachd beat Kingussie 3-2 at the Bught Park to win the Camanachd Cup for the first time in over 50 years. Duncan MacIntyre was also a member of the Macaulay Association for a number of years. He is survived by his wife Rosemary, daughter Fiona and son Alexander. Duncan MacIntyre’s funeral service will take place at 10am at St Columba’s Cathedral on Saturday 16 July 2016 with the internment thereafter at Pennyfuir Cemetery. |
