Drew McNeil Names 2013 Scotland Senior Preparation Squad | |
19 September 2013 Scotland Head Coach Drew McNeil has named his preparation squads ahead of this year’s home and away Shinty / Hurling international against Ireland. McNeil has named a strong squad with Norman Campbell, Steven MacDonald, Andy MacKintosh, Fraser MacKintosh and Glen MacKintosh all included. Kyles Athletic are also well represented with Donald Irvine, Roddy MacDonald, Robbie MacLeod and Roberto Zavaroni called up. There is also a place for 2008 Marine Harvest Player of the Year John MacDonald who has been in excellent for Ballachulish in Marine Harvest North Division 2 this season. A total fourteen players: Stuart MacKintosh, Norman Campbell, John Barr, Mark MacDonald, Daniel Cameron, Callum Cruden, Steven MacDonald, Keith MacRae, Shaun Nicolson, Finlay MacRae, Kevin Bartlett, Drew Howie, Donald Irvine, and Stuart MacDonald were all in last year’s squad. There are also call-ups from the Scotland 21s for: Conor Cormack, David MacLean, John MacRae, Zandz Ferguson and Andy MacKintosh. The remaining players: John MacDonald, Liam MacDonald, John Hutchison, Lee Bain, Roddy MacDonald, Robbie MacLeod, Roberto Zavaroni, Fraser MacKintosh and Glen MacKintosh were not involved last year.

The final squad will be confirmed following the final preparation session on Sunday 20 October 2013. The Shinty / Hurling international first test between Scotland and Ireland take place at Croke Park on Saturday 26 October 2013 with the second test taking place at the Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday 2 November 2013.
