The Camanachd Association has agreed to pilot new cutting-edge technology to help their referees officiate in shinty matches.
The revolutionary technology will see all club managers in all divisions provided with a small device which, when activated, sends an electric shock to the referee to alert him to any situation on the field of play which he may have missed.
Referees have a large pitch to cover. This assistance should ensure the best possible independent advice is available to referees to help them make decisions.
The devices will allow managers to express themselves and can be activated as many times as necessary during a game.
Teams with co-managers will be allowed two devices.
A further proposal to allow supporters to have access to the devices has not been agreed to at this stage.
