Camanachd Association Match Procedures | |
17 July 2013 The Camanachd Association has issued a bulletin clubs this week reminding them of the match procedures surrounding results and referees.
Results The Camanachd Association provides a comprehensive results service for clubs, individual members and the media. This is an important way of showcasing the game but can only be done with the clubs’ support and co-operation. It is the responsibility of the home team to contact the Camanachd Association on 07776 456 650 after each match with the following information:
It is imperative that this information is relayed to the Camanachd Association within 30 minutes of the final whistle so that the results information can be despatched timeously to the various media outlets. The Camanachd Association also provides regular score updates during matches via Twitter and Facebook. This is a popular way of keeping supporters informed with scores from other games but it is only possible if each club passes on the details whilst their matches are taking place. The score update, goal scorer and goal time, and half time score can be sent by text or phone call to 07776 456 650.
Match Referees There have been a number of instances recently where the host club has not contacted the match referee by the Wednesday prior to the match. Fortunately in these instances, the referee has been available or an alternative referee has been sought so the matches have been able to go ahead. Each home club should contact referee by Wednesday at the latest to confirm arrangements and provide emergency contact numbers and to confirm who the club contact will be on the day of the match. The home club should also to confirm if the referee will bring his own goal judges or will require each club to provide a goal judge. Each home club should also contact the opposition team to confirm the start time and provide directions (if required) and inform the opposing team whether they are required to provide a goal judge. The home club is requested to ensure that they actually speak to someone regarding both of the above matters rather than leaving answer-phone messages which aren’t always picked up. If clubs do leave a message, they should ask for a return call so that arrangements are confirmed ahead of the game. |
