Beauly v Skye Camanachd – Team News | |
09 August 2013 Skye Camanachd and Beauly meet in Marine Harvest North Division 1 at Braeview Park on Saturday 10 August 2013. This is Skye’s final match of the season and it is a must win game for the Islanders as they battle it out with Caberfeidh to see who finishes in third place in the league. Skye are currently just a point ahead of fourth place Cabers but the Castle Leod side still has two games to play; away to Beauly and at home to Strathglass. A top three finish should secure a place in shinty’s new national second tier which comes into effect next season. Skye Camanachd first team manager Willie MacRae remains without injured duo Danny Morrison and Darryl Macintosh. However Ally “Spod” MacLeod will feature for the second team as he makes his come-back from a broken hand. Kenny MacLeod and Shockie MacLennan are still out but Gilleasbuig MacDonald, Kenny Campbell and Chris MacLennan are all back after missing the 1-0 defeat to Caberfeidh a fortnight ago. There is also a place for second team captain David Grant who is available after suspension. However Neil MacVicar will not make the trip as he is working. Beauly will be strong opposition and they had, up until recently, been contesting trophies on three fronts but defeats to Kyles Athletic, Bute and Kilmallie ended their progress in the Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup, the Balliemore Cup and Marine Harvest North Division 1. Beauly co-managers Stephen MacLean and Iain Morrison have utility player David Groat available after he served a one match ban for his red card in the Balliemore Cup Final but full back Scott MacLeod remains on the injury list. Throw up is at the earlier time of 2pm and there is a change of referee with Billy Wotherspoon replacing Daniel MacRae. |
