Beauly U17 2 Skye Camanachd U17 1 | |
02 May 2016 Skye Camanachd U17 lost 2-1 to Beauly U17 in their London Shield meeting at Braeview Park on Tuesday 26 April 2016. Skye Camanachd U17 Youth Coach Davie Pringle made just one change to the squad which beat Kinlochshiel U17 a week earlier as Martin Pringle replaced Ross Nicolson after recovering from an arm injury. Ruaraidh MacLeod remained on the injury list. Beauly have a number of promising youngsters within their ranks so this 7pm throw up was always likely to be a good encounter. Ross Gordon put Skye ahead but Beauly second team keeper Lee Dunbar, who was playing in attack, drew the home side level before the break. Robbie Brindle put Beauly in front with what proved to be the winning goal. Lee Dunbar was pulled back into defence to help protect the lead and he was sent off by referee Martin MacLean late in the match in a bizarre incident when he appeared to strike a goal-hit at the goal judge.
