Badenoch & Strathspey Ladies Defeat Makes Glasgow Mid Argyll Ladies Title Favourites | |
10 August 2015 Badenoch & Strathspey’s defeat to Skye Camanachd last weekend means it is advantage Glasgow Mid Argyll in the race for the WCA Marine Harvest National Divison 1 title. Reigning champions Glasgow Mid Argyll top the table and on 19 points and they have just one match remaining – against bottom side Lorn at Yoker. A GMA win will mean they reach the 21 point mark, with a healthy goal difference into the bargain, and the title will be theirs. Second place Badenoch & Strathspey suffered their only league defeat of the season last weekend when they lost 3-1 to third place Skye Camanachd at the Dell. Badenoch & Strathspey currently have 18 points from eleven matches played. Their final match is also a home game with Lorn. However if GMA win their final match, a Badenoch win over Lorn would not be enough to wrestle the title from the Glasgow side. Badenoch & Strathspey and Glasgow Mid Argyll have still to meet in the prestigious Valerie Fraser Camanachd Cup Final. This one is sure to be a cracker. The sides have already met twice this season with Badenoch winning once whilst the other match was a draw. |
