Kyles Athletic’s run through the South part of the draw to the final saw them play three away ties:
Saturday 26 April 2014
Artemis Macaulay Cup First Round
Inveraray 1 Kyles Athletic 5
The tie of the Artemis Macaulay Cup first round looked to be the 3pm throw up between Inveraray and Kyles Athletic at the Winterton. Inveraray have been a bogey side for the men from Tighnabruaich over the last couple seasons but Kyles exerted their authority in this tie. David Zavaroni got Kyles off to a great start with a goal after just 5 minutes. A Roddy MacDonald double on 20 and 35 minutes made it 3-0 at the break. Roberto Zavaroni made it 4-0 on 53 minutes and Roddy MacDonald completed his hat-trick on 61 minutes to make it 5-0. When referee Innes Wood awarded the home side a penalty on 71 minutes, Garry MacPherson stepped up to convert from the spot.

Artemis Macaulay Cup – Semi Finals
Oban Camanachd 0 Kyles Athletic 3
Kyles Athletic are through to the Artemis Macaulay Cup Final after they beat Oban Camanachd 3-0 at Mossfield. Roddy MacDonald and Grant Irvine returned to good effect for Kyles whilst Oban’s Scott MacMillan missed out following his red card against Glasgow Mid Argyll last weekend. Grant Irvine’s return to the side has been a big boost for Kyles this season and he put the Tighnabruaich ahead after 13 minutes. Oban Camanachd had chances to level during the remainder of the first half but they were unable to level. Dunkie Kerr made it 2-0 just 5 minutes after the restart and Roddy MacDonald sealed the win with a goal just 3 minutes later. One concern for Kyles will be a knee injury suffered by key defender Callum Miller which forced him to leave the field. Billy Wotherspoon was the match referee.
Admission is £7, with £4 for concessions whilst U12s accompanied by a paying adult get in for free. The admission fee includes a free match programme.
The whole match will be screened live on BBC2 Scotland from 2.10pm.
Throw up is at 2.30pm and Deek Cameron is the match referee.
