Ardnamurchan Ladies 0 Skye Camanachd Ladies 14 | |
12 August 2013 The Skye Camanachd Ladies maintained their 100% league record with a 14-0 win in their WCA North Division 2 match against Ardnamurchan Ladies at Strontian on Saturday 10 August 2013. Skye Camanachd Ladies coach Sarah Corrigall was without Jenna Beaton and Caitlin MacLean for this 2pm throw up. Skye applied pressure onto the young Ardnamurchan defence from the throw up and they opened the scoring early in the game through full forward Anna MacDonald. Skye kept up the pressure throughout the first half, and, when the half time whistle was been blown, they led 5-0. Anna MacDonald, who usually plays in defence, got a second, Lorna MacRae scored twice and Kristen MacBeth got the other. The second half continued in the same fashion with Skye having the majority of the pressure. However Ardnamurchan used their spells of possession well and played some very nice fast flowing shinty. They were just unable to find a killer shot at the end of it all. Skye kicked it up a gear in the second half and managed to score nine more goals. Two of the goals came from Helen Lamond who had never previously scored for the club. The other second half goals came from Kristen MacBeth, two more from Anna MacDonald to take her tally to four and another four from Lorna MacRae to give her a double hat-trick. Skye remain second in the league, having won all six of their league matches so far whilst leaders Lochaber have won all seven of their games. The sides are scheduled to meet in Portree later this month Skye Camanachd from; Sarah Corrigall, Ros Lamond (captain), Anna MacDonald, Helen Lamond, Kirsty Dibble, Kristen MacBeth, Emma Gordon, Izzy Law, Ilana Paterson, Lorna MacRae Throw up is at 2pm. |
