2018 Newtonmore Player of the Year Awards | |
02 December 2018 Newtonmore announced their player of the year awards at the club’s annual dinner dance at the Balavil on Friday 30 November 2018. It was a particularly successful season for the ‘More first and second teams. The senior side lifted the Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup, the Marine Harvest Premiership and the cottages.com MacTavish Cup whilst the second team won Marine Harvest North Division 1, the Sutherland Cup and the Strathdearn Cup. Newtonmore were also big winners at the Marine Harvest annual awards, where they were named club of the year and boss Paul John MacKintosh took the manager of the year accolade. It was little surprise that another winner, national player of the year Rory Kennedy, was confirmed as Newtonmore first team player of the year. The second team player of the year award went to Owen Fraser who has been a powerhouse in midfield since switching from his previous goalkeeping position. Newtonmore’s second team goalie Calum Grover, who was also named North U17 keeper, collected the U17 player of the year prize. |
