31 January 2017 The draw for the 2017 Gregor Cameron Consultancy Glasgow Celtic Society Cup has been confirmed. Glasgow Mid Argyll, Inveraray, Kyles Athletic and Oban Camanachd were all given byes into the quarter final stage. Kyles Athletic are the current holders and they have been drawn at home to Kilmory or Taynuilt in the quarter-finals. Glasgow Mid Argyll will also have home advantage in the last-eight as they host Glenorchy or Ballachulish. Oban Celtic make an opening round trip to Bute where the teams will meet for the right to host Inveraray in the next round. The final quarter final tie sees Oban Camanachd travel to play the winners from the first round tie between Tayforth and Col Glen. Commenting on the draw, Glasgow Celtic Society Chairman John Macleod said, "This year's draw has thrown up some exciting ties which I am sure all teams will be looking forward too. Kyles Athletic and Inveraray was a great final to watch for all shinty fans and Taynuilt provided excellent facilities so we are delighted to return there for what we hope will be another memorable shinty match."
