2017 Aberdein Considine Sutherland Cup Final | |
15 September 2017 The rescheduled Aberdein Considine Sutherland Cup Final between Lochside Rovers and the Kingussie seconds takes place at An Aird, Fort William on Saturday 16 September 2017. The final was originally to take place in late July but was postponed because of an unplayable field. With rain forecast this week, Camanachd Association officials will monitor the playing conditions and a change of venue is an option open to them should conditions deteriorate. Lochside Rovers beat the Beauly second team, the Kyles Athletic reserves, the Bute colts and the Glenurquhart second team on their route to the final. Kingussie knocked out the Skye Camanachd colts, the Aberdour seconds, the Fort William reserves and holders Newtonmore reserves to book their final spot. Lochside Rovers manager Gareth Evans will look to Lewis Buchanan and Craig MacDougall up front and defenders Craig Easton and Daniel Sloss as well as Daniel MacCuish if they are to take the trophy to Oban. James Falconer, Roddy Young, Ruaridh Anderson and Alexander Michie will be key players for Kingussie boss Ally MacLeod as the 2016 beaten finalists look to go one better this year. The 2017 Aberdein Considine Sutherland Cup Final between Lochside Rovers and the Kingussie seconds at An Aird throws up at 3pm and Iain Kennedy is the match referee. |
