20 July 2016 The 2016 Craig Morrison Stornoway Sixes took place at Stornoway Primary School on the evening of Wednesday 13 July 2016. Three teams took part, with Al’s Pals, Fiorentina Turner and Simply the Best playing eachother twice. After the action Al’s Pals and Simply the Best were level on points with the latter winning the Shield on a penalty shoot-out. Ally Lamont was named Player of the Tournament with Rory MacDiarmid awarded the Young Player of the Tournament accolade. Craig Morrison’s parents, Graham and Kareen Morrison were on hand to present the Shield to winning captain Michael MacLeod. Craig Morrison passed away tragically at the age of 20 in 2009. He is remembered with great fondness by everyone at Camanachd Leòdhais and this tournament, celebrating Craig's life and his passion for shinty, continues to be a popular event. This quick-fire tournament was part of a week of shinty related activity culminating in the Hebridean Celtic Festival Inter-Island Cup between Camanachd Leòdhais and Uist Camanachd on Saturday 16 July 2016.
