2015 RBS MacTavish Cup Final …………. 1 Day To Go! | |
12 June 2015 The early team news is starting to emerge ahead of the RBS MacTavish Cup Final between Newtonmore and Glenurquhart at the Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday 13 June 2015. Newtonmore manager Paul John MacKintosh has not had his injury troubles to seek this season nor last year for that matter. However the likes of Evan Menzies, Jamie Robinson and Chris Sellar have returned in recent weeks to boost the squad. However ace-marksman Danny MacRae has been sidelined all season and it remains to be seen if the final has come too soon for inured captain Cameron Binnie and fellow-defender Scott Campbell. Glen MacKintosh, Fraser MacKintosh and Evan Menzies provide a potent goal threat and Conor Jones will hoped to have played his way onto the five-man substitutes bench after some sparkling performances for the ‘More second team. Glenurquhart co-managers Billy MacLean and Dave Menzies took the opportunity to give forwards Andrew Corrigan and James MacPherson some game time for the reserves against the Lovat reserves last weekend and MacPherson scored one of their goals in a 3-1 win. Ewan Brady is an injury concern as he has missed recent matches with a calf strain. Captain Andrew Corrigan has arranged time-off from his job abroad and Ally MacKintosh’s return to fitness is a boost. Second team player / manager Iain MacLeod has been a revelation since he was brought in as first team full centre and Lewis MacLennan’s switch to full back has strengthened the Glen defence. Glenurquhart have appeared in the last two RBS MacTavish Cup Finals – losing out to Lovat on both occasions. However they beat Newtonmore on penalties in last year’s semi-final. Newtonmore have held the upper-hand this year though – winning their league meeting 4-0 and their Artemis Macaulay cup tie 5-1. Throw up is at 4.05pm and Evan MacRae is the match referee. The final will be featured live on BBC ALBA. Admission for the 2015 RBS MacTavish Cup Final is £10 for Adults, £5 Concessions and U12s go free if accompanied by an adult. |
